This morning I spoke too one of my mentors, he was telling me how blessed I was to be able to live to see a black president elected and the opening of the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History in 2015. I also mentioned the debut of the MLK memorial which I wrote about last month here. He had forgotten about the MLK memorial and said that I "put the icing on the cake" with that one. Before he walked away he said "we make the cake and you just put the icing on it" That got me thinking.
That should be apart of all what we aim to to do in life. It seems like every generation has to start from scratch. Too often people die and don't leave anything behind but a expensive funeral bill. There should be more "cake being made" so later generations can "put the icing on it". Some people leave money or life lessons behind, Whitney Houston left music. What kind of cake are you making for later generations to put icing on? Or are you just eating...
