Black Radio is the new album from The Robert Glasper Experiment that was released yesterday. After Musiq Soulchild and other artists used Twitter to push the album I did a little research on the artist and was glad I gave the album a chance. Robert Glasper is a jazz musician and producer who has inlisted the help of his band and utilized them as the backdrop for this album that features household names such as Erykah Badu, Musiq Soulchild, Lailah Hatthaway, Lupe Fiasco, Mos Def and more. I admit I downloaded it but with its smooth jazz sound and deep subject matter I will buy it. When he created this album he wanted to go back to how black radio used to sound and with this project he has given us an enjoyable escape to the 'good ol days'.
I advise that you take a listen or even purchase this project. It's currently on Itunes for only $6.99.
